With 2020 nearly in the rear-view mirror, let's look at what to expect for home buyers and sellers in 2021.

  • Prediction: Increased home prices that became a hallmark of the COVID-19 crisis may be here to stay.
  • Thought: Sellers can continue to capitalize, but it’s still important to price a property correctly at the start. Buyers will need an astute negotiator in their corner to get the best possible deal.

 

  • Prediction: Total active listings were down in 2020, but sellers will be more confident to list in 2021.
  • Thought: The sale price on a listing and the offer a seller is willing to accept depends greatly on the supply/demand balance. If there is more competition, that balance changes. As someone who has been working exclusively in Singer Island real estate for over 22 years, my radar is highly attuned to what can alter that balance.

 

  • Prediction: The population of Florida is on the rise and will rise even more significantly in 2021.
  • Thought: The pandemic amplified the desire for homes with more space, in locations with a lower cost of living, where you can enjoy the benefits of warmer weather, year-round. Florida is now the go-to place to have it all. When you're ready to sell, make sure your home is seen by an eager audience of buyers.
