Monthly Guide to Year-Round Fishing on Singer Island

Posted by Meike MacGregor on Monday, October 18th, 2021 at 12:47pm.

As a peninsula touching the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the Palm Beach Inlet, and the Intracoastal Waterway, Singer Island is the REEL deal!

Not only do we have several professional charters, the county’s public parks system includes several dozen choices for freshwater or saltwater fishing from a shore location or a pier.

No matter what month you’re in the mood, you’ll get hooked fishing on the aqua blue waters of Singer Island. Just look at your year-round choices:

January

Start the year in the sunshine, far away from the winter blues. Go after Snook, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Croakers, Snappers, and Redfish at the Inlet.
Offshore: Cobia, King Mackerel, and Sailfish.

February

Fall in love with Singer Island’s choice of fishing. Inlet: is similar to January. Offshore: Wahoo and Sailfish.

March

What will be your lucky catch? This month the mullet run north along the beach with large fish such as Giant Tarpon, Snook, and Jacks chasing after them. March also coincides with the beginning of the Spinner Shark migration. Offshore: Sailfish, Cobia, and King Mackerel.

April

No showers to spoil your Spring fishing. Spinner Shark migration is full speed ahead. And, this is the beginning of the season for huge Blue Marlin.

May

A month with some of the most pleasant weather and exciting fishing. Snook and Jacks at the Inlet. Offshore: African Pompano, Blackfin Tuna, and Crevalle Jack. The last good month for Sailfish until fall.

June

Here come the summer visitors! Tourists are angling to get good spots. But you already have the best places mapped out. It’s an excellent month with Snook and Tarpon at the Inlet. Offshore: plenty of Blackfin Tuna, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, and many others. The best month for White Marlin.

July

Very hot weather means making plans when the sun is down. The fishing is similar to June and you’ll want to go in the early morning or at night to avoid the heat.

August

Before the grandkids have to go back to school, make sure they get a chance to join you. Last chance for Giant Snook. Wahoo arrives. Choose times that avoid the peak heat of the day.

September

This month is when the Silver Mullet migration begins, as they speed south along the beaches with every giant fish hot on their heels, including Giant Tarpon, Spinner Shark, Jacks, and Snook. Offshore: Wahoo and Sailfish.

October

The opposite of scary! This is one of the best months for fishing here. The Silver Mullet run continues in full force. Last good month for Blue Marlin.

November

You’ll be giving thanks for all of the fishing you can do, both in and offshore. Similar to October. Snook, Black Drum, Sheepshead, and Croakers at the Inlet.
Offshore: Blackfin Tuna, Cobia, and Wahoo.

December

Give yourself the gift of a fishing charter and a chance to explore any places you haven’t yet. Great Inlet fishing includes Sheepshead, Grouper, Snapper, Pompano, African Pompano, Redfish, and Permit. Offshore: Cobia and King Mackerel.
