According to new data from Florida Realtors, existing single-family home sales spiked 14.4% statewide this past month, while condo-townhouse sales across the Sunshine State also jumped nearly 9% compared to last year.

What’s even more encouraging is that November also marked the 95th month in a row that statewide median sales prices for both categories rose year-over-year, suggesting the market is still in a good place, even despite a major dip in International buyers

According to reports from the Pew Research Center and 2018 census records, there has been a recent trend in families using multi-generational housing. The report states that as of April 2018, a record high, nearly 64 million American citizens are living in a household with 2 or more generations of family members. The number translates to about 20% or 1/5 homes in the United States that now live in a multigenerational household.

The last time that housing figure reached 20% was back in 1950. Three decades later in 1980 the number has dropped to 12% of homes. In the recession of 2008, the number increased greatly and then leveled out. This growing trend is not specific to any one racial group and encompasses all age, sex, and ethnic backgrounds.
